A woman who caused an accident, grievously injuring someone when tasked to explain how she came to knock someone down, said that she'd been praying. She'd been going through some difficult times and was praying . . . Isn't praying while driving even worse than texting while driving? While you could glance at the road if you are texting after a few seconds, if you are praying with your eyes closed, you are a danger to all motorists. Shouldn't those who drive and pray be sent to prison? Or is it only serious if their stupidity gets someone killed?
They should be punished somehow, I mean... What's the need to do things like this in the car, while you are driving? It's extremely irresponsible. In my country we use to do that but we do it before to start driving, it can be mortal if you are someone who has a big passion about your religion, this needs to be changed!
Praying and other activities should be banned while driving should be redefined to being stupid! It's difficult to design a "stupid or moronic driving" law. I would suggest scrapping all these "illlegal to <do something> laws to clear the clutter of phoning, texting, eating, praying, yelling (at your kids in the back seat), drinking (coffee) and other stupid driving practices. One law for careless driving and maybe with a dangerous driving supplement (for body or property damage) should take care of the sins loose on the roads today. Specificity just generates loopholes. Give the power back to the local judges in the township courts.
One would think that it is common sense to not close one eyes for any length of time during driving and therefore no law would be required. And yet, here we are. Common sense just isn't all that common anymore.
She definitely should be charged with something because she shouldn't have been driving and not paying attention to her surroundings. When you are driving your complete attention should be on the road and what is going on around you. She should have pulled off to the side of the road and said a prayer. There is no excuse for praying while driving.
You can pray and consciously be looking at the road and driving. I've done it before. God doesn't care lol.
This was just one of those excuses to get out of a ticket (or an accident) as stated earlier. One of the most creative reasons I've heard so far so kudos to the woman but ofcourse she shouldn't have done it though and using her religion as an excuse is twice as bad. I hope she prayed that she get out of hell for lying.
