People said the same thing about MySpace, and then Facebook came along, and boom, it was over. While it is true that teenages do jump from platform to platform, once they find a platform they like, they're going to swarm it and abandon Facebook just as quickly as they abandoned MySpace.

In my opinion, Facebook wouldn't be as popular as it is now in a few years. Facebook has lost its charm for the last few years. They have stopped providing some of the useful features that would have helped a lot of people who deal with marketing. They have been updating it often and adding various superfluous features. But that only makes it more boring.
Back then, I used to use Facebook a lot, used to interact with people all day. But now, I only use it for 20 minutes a day. A lot of my friends have already deleted their accounts.
Nowadays, I frequently use Reddit. It is way better than Facebook IMO. The Reddit community is super friendly too.
