I had posted awhile back about Putin buying Ukrainian bonds, my focus is on Russia, i bet the whole world is, other than the world cup which has suffered a few glitches here and there, anyway, i do hope Russia will have straightened themselves up come 2018, world cup season. I came across this article, about them {russia} cutting gas supply to Ukraine...will this move adversely affect the world market? or its just going to affect Ukraine alone?...here is the article http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/0...o-ukraine-after-deadline-passes-without-deal/ It really feels like Putin is really pulling marionette strings on this one.
Not really. This is more of a case of Ukraine not paying Russia for natural gas in protest & retaliation for the annexation of Crimea and sponsored terrorism inside its borders. However, the EU should have already prepared for this obvious breakdown of trade relations between Ukraine & Russia when they wanted to bring Ukraine over to their side and will have backup resources prepared for them so I wouldn't worry too much. In my opinion, even this very second the EU is buying more Natural Gas from Russia, and selling them to Ukraine since the gas trade to EU isn't affected. LOL. By doing this, Ukraine will still get Russian natural gas without having to pay off its huge debt to Russia.
No surprise there, if they are at war it's just natural that their commercial relations are affected too. On the other hand, Russia has to lay low for a while if they want to avoid more economical sanctions that would seriously hurt them.
It's natural for them to do so-they are basically at war right now-but whether it's right for them to do so is another matter. I'm not sure Putin cares about economical sanctions however. As for getting their act together for 2018...well, we all saw how well that went this year with Sochi. And how well Brazil has done with the World Cup. Or Qatar in 2022...suffice to say, even if they don't get their act together, FIFA is corrupt enough that they don't care.
I do not trust those Russians. That lose of natural gas will only affect those in the invaded parts of the Ukraine. The Russians can cut back all they wish. Remember they were just kicked out of the G-8 Summit. It became the G-7 Summit. Putin is angry because of the backlash he suffered for his most recent invasion. I hope all of the OPEC countries flood the word with oil so his prices will greatly decrease. That way he will lose a great deal of money and power to influence others.
Interesting article and I'm not entirely sure how I feel. Russia has it's issues as does every individual country. How they handle it will be interesting.
One day all countries will be as one and we will not have all of these separate issues. Its all for your entertainment. The public needs things to talk about. Sports and movies are nice, but political and environmental issues need to be manufactured as well.
What do you mean, 'pulling marionette strings'? Do you think Gazprom should just not get paid the billions that are owed?
LOL, that would be a dream really, one country, one language, no borders, keys or money, but really out of this world, a good script for a movie maybe.
