Some analysts say Offshore Drillers will not recover until the 2020's... too much cheap onshore shale oil and middle east need to raise cash to fight it's wars so they can't afford to lose market share to American Shale Oil Producers.... Thus you have an extended period of cheap oil which is bad for Offshore Oil Drillers and Oil Companies but GOOD for Consumers as it's sort of a tax break... you have a little more to spend each week as gas prices are cheaper... plane tickets are cheaper... cost to ship goods are cheaper and costs may get passed on to consumer.... moral of the story?... sell ORIG and buy consumer-spending related stocks
Good call, I wonder where the bottom is. Might actually be a great buying opportunity as I am sure many are following the same logic as you, so you can pick up a bargain if you are willing to have 0 short term gains and are more focused on long term growth.
