Good thing for the Greeks though is that they have started to lose faith in the politicians who got them where they are now. While many of them had earlier entertained the thoughts of leaving the euro, the closing of the banks opened their eyes, so to say. They realized into what straits they'd get themselves should they choose to leave the euro. I believe that many Greeks will vote "yes" and in so doing end the political careers of Tsipiras, his advisors and cronies.

Greece is imposing restrictions on bank withdrawals. Banks have remained shut since 28th of June. Prime Minister Tsipras said the Eurogroup’s rejection of a bailout extension beyond June 30 sparked the European Central Bank’s decision to freeze its financial lifeline, and prompted “the Bank of Greece (to) ask for the activation of measures” comprising a “bank holiday and restriction of bank withdrawals”, adding that Athens had again requested a “prolongation of the program.”

    What happened in the past???
