How can doctors improve their relationships with patients in order to gain their trust? I feel the main thing a doctor can do is build a good reputation. Doing this will take much effort and doctors will have to devote more time to educating themselves about their niches whether it be continuing academic education or self-education. In addition, they must apply knowledge with the most care and accuracy while being respectable and courteous in dealing with patients. What is your opinion?
In order for a doctor to gain trust with a paient, the doctor must be make the patients wellness his main concern, their must be patient confidentiality, the doctor should be able to make some follow ups on the patient, I believe that this will make the doctor- patient relation better.
I think that a doctor patient relationship can be strengthened if a doctor listens to their patient and is genuinely concerned about their affairs. No one needs to feel rushed out when they visit their doctor or wait for several hours to see a doctor when they made an appointment. A patient will feel appreciated by a doctor if they do not dismiss them when they air their concerns about their health.
A good doctor needs to care about her patients, and care enough to educate herself about the patients' conditions, especially if they are unusual, difficult to diagnose or new to the physician. Patients should be treated with respect and as intelligent people, not just as diseases - but it's also good if patients educate themselves too, so they can ask relevant questions and hopefully understand more about their bodies and what is making them sick. This way they can also help themselves more, for example by eating right and being more aware of what's going on with their medical condition. The relationship between doctor and patient can benefit if both sides make an effort, and the patient benefits above all!
