Really think that this needs to happen. Trusting someone just isnt enough anymore. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/pol...o-stop-revenge-pornography-says-minister.html
I don't think any law could stop someone from posting pictures of their ex online without their knowledge. There are so many cunning methods to utilize that would undermine this law. I had to chuckle because this happen to someone I know. These type of situations shouldn't transpire at all. If a relationship goes sour, cry about it and let it go. There's no justification in the world to resort to putting personal photos of your ex online for strangers to see. I'm in favor of the law but at the end of the day people will use other options to exploit their ex.
This is something that needs to be done, and sooner rather than later. Posting nude photos without permission is in my opinion the ultimate abuse of privacy. Hopefully this law will start help prevent this from happening. This will only stop though when either people realise that they should only trust nude pictures to people they are sure aren't petty and vindictive.
Interesting that the news explicitly says to protect women from men, can't the opposite happen as well? Also, why do the women allow themselves to be photographed? I am married for a few years and I don't have any explicit pictures from my wife, what for?
It would be a good idea, but it will be very difficult to control, especially when someone is angry at another, they do what they want out of rage, unless the penalty is harsh, I believe people will keep doing it, but I do hope it makes a difference.
Of course posting nude pictures of someone without their permission should be punishable, isn't that why website, televisions, etc have people sign disclaimers that their image can be used? If no such document exists for the nude pictures then it should be pretty easy to sue someone for using your image without your authorization. Good to see laws evolving in order to address "new" situations though, it's usually a good sign.
I'm eager to see how this will pan out because at the moment i 'll be sitting on the fence, am not so sure a law like that will be effective, laws are always being implemented every other day and ills of the society continue as if nothing new has happened...laws like these usually fall on deaf ears and blind eyes that are greatly curious to know how that revenge porn pic wafted its way in the internet...this is one huge war
The biggest problem I see with this is that it only protects women. Why not just protect everyone? Also, how will they prove when permission is given. Can someone just say it after the fact and get someone in trouble that did nothing wrong?
This sounds like something that is a good idea on paper but would fail miserably in practice. How are we going about regulating this? Think about how difficult it would be to track down these people and bring them to justice. We would have to set up an entire department responsible for that and spend thousands of dollars. Frankly, I just don't think it's worth the money when we're already as deep in debt as we are.
