At this moment in time Tesla motors, the brainchild of Elon Musk, is under extreme pressure but those who take Elon musk for a fool, do so at their own risk! Check out some interesting articles from the inc.com website:

Personally I think Elon Musk has blotted his copy book somewhat over the last year with his vicious and uncalled for attacks on analysts and those with a different view to him. One of the arts of successful business is to appreciate your shortfalls and, rightly or wrongly, take on board outside criticisms. Will he be successful, you bet your last dollar he will be!

He has said sorry for his comments but somehow I dont think that will be enough for the British diver. You cant throw those kind of accusations around and expect them to disappear by saying sorry. Is he losing the plot?

While Elon Musk is at the centre of an unwelcome PR storm lets not forget he set up and sold PayPal at a very early age when nobody else saw the potential for such a system. He has built up an albeit mainly paper wealth of billions of dollars - the man is no fool and while the recent press intrusion would kill off many entrepeneurs I fully expect him to come back bigger and better to prove his doubters wrong. He could sell-up tomorrow and live a life of luxury but money does not seem to be his King.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Tesla and Elon Musk in light of the recently announced indicative “takeover” by Elon Musk himself. There are currently two legal challenges going through the courts suggesting that while Elon Musk suggested that “funding was secure” is this really the situation? There are grave concerns that the takoever announcement was made in order to burn short sellers and is unlikely to go through. Looking at the share price, it does not look a certainty.

Has Elon Musk overstepped the mark this time?

Is it ego or the need to be successful which drives Elon Musk? I cannot understand why he is making life so complicated for himself. He could sell up and walk away from everything tomorrow with a few billion dollars in his pocket. Why give yourself this kind of stress?

Like many I am starting to think that public life does not suit Elon Musk and maybe Tesla would progress better and quicker if it was a private entity with the less short-term scrutiny from shareholders. It does look as though the pressure is starting to tell on Elon Musk as his recent actions have courted a lot of controversy when historically he has tended to be out of the limelight.

It is starting to look as though Elon Musk has found a kindred spirit in Middle East-based sovereign investment funds looking to reduce their dependence on oil and move towards more eco-friendly modes of transport. In reality, Elon Musk has an excellent track record when it comes to growing businesses and selling them on and even though Tesla is his biggest test to date, would you really bet against him if this was a private company with less focus on short-term targets and more focus on long-term returns?
