The unemployment numbers will be published on Thursday morning. I used to be able to predict the outcome just by looking at construction trends in my town. I live in a major American city. Now a days I don't know how to measure it anymore. What do you think? Are we adding or losing jobs where you live?
It is hard to tell, the government has a new way of calculating unemployment statistics. So is unemployment really going down or is the government just saying it is. I think the economy is not as strong as the government claims.
Big govt loves to cook the books these days. Energy has been the main driver of real fulltime employment and real GDP growth in recent years. I'd guess that legit employment and economic growth numbers may trend down somewhat in the coming months with the decrease in oil prices and domestic production.
