If your new to the stock market I would suggest you avoid penny stocks as they can be highly volatile. Learn your craft in the more predictable blue chips stocks.
Yes, I think Penny stocks are not the thing for the novice investor. I don't know a lot about them but I have heard they can be tricky. Ask the investors here what you should be investing in, because a lot of the people who participate in this forum are quite knowledgeable when it comes to stocks. They could probably point you in the right direction.
