If you live in the city you have to expect some noise and sometimes tenants are unrealistic. The issue is more with noisy neighbors or pets which can be controlled. It also depends on why you are renting; to be close to work or public transport or because you want to work from home. When I rented out my place in London, it was near a bus stop and the tube station, so being on a main road there was bound to be traffic. I had people asking how noisy it was; clearly I said it's Central London, everywhere is noisy and you have to understand that. I didn't want a tenant to complain because they aren't used to noise and I do think you have to be realistic.
