Germany's parliament was considering . . . nay, they are actually proposed that [since they don't like what Merkel has been saying and the role it has played in imposing sanctions on Russia], they should demand that Germany pays for damage inflicted on Russia during WWII. Good thing though is they [the Russians] have someone amongst them who's still reasonable. Someone who's dismissed the proposal as nonsense. http://itar-tass.com/en/russia/775102 The proposal was . . . http://itar-tass.com/en/russia/775042 That's almost enough money to fix Russia's economic problems.
Russia must really be in dire straights to be bothering with this kind of nonsense. Good German is shrugging it off. So far, Putin's gambit of throwing their weight around isn't working out, at least economically.
The sanctions which Russia tried to shrug off as "nothing" and the plummeting oil prices have obviously had such an impact that . . . they're compelled to find alternative ways to raise money. Could be collecting what they presume are old debts which haven't been settled, is a gamble that might pay off. Or are they indirectly hinting at getting a loan from somewhere?
