Ben Carson was never a serious contender for the GOP Presidential nomination. He's simply a clown being showcase by the GOP for the time being. His remarks were ignorant but I feel folks like him shouldn't be given too much airtime or focus because it becomes a bigger news story than it deserves to be. Besides, Carson's opinion is somewhat align with most conservatives, especially since many of taken such an extremist view on certain social issues over the past 7 years.
I don't understand why politicians feel the need to comment about gay issues at all. I'm conservative, but I just don't feel like it's any business of the government, and I don't understand why anyone else feels that it is. Live and let live is my policy. Carson was never going to be a major contender for the presidency, and this goofy comment just ended any chance he had of becoming a serious contender. It's probably for the best as he has no business or executive experience.
Do they really put the prison example? This is ridiculous! We can't generalize all the gay population like that, there is not a scientific study that proofs why people are gay, people are really complex and relative to just generalize all of them, but come on, they are republicans, so I'm not that surprised.
I don't understand why politicians feel the need to be involved in people's personal lives. Who people choose to partner with is nobody's business but their own. There are so many other issues that need to be focused on, like the economy, education, health care, etc. It is best to keep their ignorant comments to themselves. Then again by speaking out they show people who they really are.
Ben Carson is a very smart man. That being said, his presidential run has been pretty disappointing. He just doesnt seem like hes put a lot of thought into political issues. His campaign seems so amateurish. Surprised his support is as high as it is.
