I have to say, as a Vietnamese myself, that this is a good piece of news for the country and the Asian market in general. I highly doubt it'll become a new tiger market like China or Korea or Singapore, but we are heading in the right direction. To me, there's still way too much red tape and that deters foreign investors too much. Would anyone here actually consider investing in Vietnam?

That is a good sign, red flags are always ther, but investing is all about taking risks, so I would not mind investing.

I would. Vietnam seems like one of the places that are more safe to invest in, nowadays. There's also some beautiful nature sights that I would love to see, so visiting there is also something that I would love to do.

I wouldn't say it's any safer than other emerging Asian markets. Yeah there are stable shares but there are also unstable ones as well, and the government has restrictions on foreign investors I think (but apparently you could just bribe your way out). I will agree that we have some nice natural sights here though, and the food is great and cheap

It's great to see that Vietnam is becoming a stronger economy. I wonder what is causing this though, is it tourism or something else?

Yes it's partly tourism, it's also a rapid increase of foreign investment. People are getting richer every day. If you walked down the streets of Hanoi maybe 10 or even 5 years ago, you'd have seen fewer cars, atms, Western stores and chain restaurants.

How exactly can you bribe yourself out?

I am positive that it is due to the increase in tourism.

You insist on paying a "fine". They'll always try to scare you with talks of confiscation of your vehicle but then nobody wins because they don't get bribes+extra paperwork...

I've also heard of cases where if you pretend you're press or if you don't speak the language AT ALL then they'll just let you go lol
