I had read a while ago about the power of media. The article said that a good advertiser can sell anything that's why ads of herbal products and such other supplements that have no approved therapeutic claims are all over the newspapers and tv is so they can sell. And people buy them on the strength of their advertisements. The media can sway the public opinion with their regular injection of ideas to the people. That can be felt during elections. There are media firms that have a slant for a particular candidate.
