Well, I don't know about you and your beliefs, but this is what religion primarily stands for. The guy who taught about creating religion, I think initially had in mind something among the lines of: "Let's create a mythical being to make people afraid of, but let's make things also a bit rewarding by offering them a fictional reward once they die." That's how things pretty much work. And like the fellow said above... I also believe Islam was created by a real opportunist, haha.

I just wanted to show you how everything could of been misinterpreted. What if it wasn't 72 virgins. What if it was something else.

This is something only Islamic extremists believe in. This isn't written down on any Holy Book that's backed by Islam, this is propaganda for future terrorists. This is some next level recruiting man.

What a pile of garbage. The UK isn't becoming Islamised at all. Just because Tesco have a small Halal section in their frozen food aisles doesn't mean we'll all be wearing burkhas by next week. All they are doing is cashing in, that's all. Same with the Sharia-compliant bank accounts. Major cities have had Islamic banks for decades and these were traditionally the only ones offering Sharia accounts. The only reason why the mainstream banks are starting to offer them is to attract more custom.

The same way God is OK with the tremendous suffering of children daily around the world, many born with defects and disease through no fault of their own ... while "He" makes sure a rule goes in the Bible about you not eating pork. It's all archaic nonsense.

Some people claim their religion is "misunderstood" - but that is an inherent part of the problem with a religion based upon old, edited, translated text. You know, because God intended you to need translators and printing presses to worship correctly. Text-based belief is open to interpretation a great deal, in addition to cementing in bronze age philosophies, then having to dance around them when they don't match with modern sensibilities.

It's all a remnant of our ignorant past, including the 72 virgins.

What is a Sharia-compliant bank account anyway? Until now I never heard of this.

As for the 72 virgins believe, well from what I understand it's propaganda for extremists. The extremists created this "believe" to inspire more people to perform acts of terrorism against the infidales in the name of Allah, and if they succeed they will go to a paradise where they will get their 72 virgins. It's quite similar to the way the Japanese Bushido code was sort of twisted during WWII to say that you would go to a paradise if you scarified your life in the name of the emperor, paved the way for the kamikaze attacks.

They work in exactly the same way as any other bank account except the bank do not invest your money in businesses which provide goods and services which are contrary to Islamic principles. So no breweries, casinos or bacon factories. Money is, instead, invested in Sharia-compliant businesses.

The myth of the 72 virgins purportedly comes from a Mohammad quotation. According to some "experts" any reference to virgins in the Koran is misinterpreted or it's real meaning lost as the Arabic language evolved. But it is something opportunists would pounce on. Recently a cleric promised jihadis 144 virgins if they died fighting for ISIS.

I've read apparent excerpts from the Koran where it supposedly states to attack and kill non-believers and that they would go to some sort of paradise dying for their cause but whether these excerpts were in fact excerpts from the Koran itself I do not know because I have not studied it in detail but I would be very surprised if the 72 virgins belief was a part of the Koran, which tends me to believe it is the works of opportunists as you say twisting it around to fit in with their own interpretations.
