The Saudis are known for their unique building architectures and oil rich countries. Now they are set to make yet another record breaking move. Come 2017, the world's largest hotel will open in the Muslims' Holy City of Mecca. It is a 45-storey hotel composed of 10,000 rooms, covering an area of 1.4 million square meters. This is definitely an addition to Saudi's famous hotels and something to look forward to. It will surely boost Saudi's already booming economy all the more. In Mecca, the one thing the locals will always profit from is the hotel business. Some people even compare Mecca with Vegas these days. Since millions of pilgrims visit Mecca each year so I'm sure the hotel no matter how large it is during the Hajj will be fully booked. It's good that the Saudis are finally diversifying their investments.
Now that is something impressive, 10.000 rooms and 3.5 billion costs is something staggering, but I believe that they will get a full return on that, I can't even imagine their income for 10.000 rooms per night.
To build an hotel of this size and stature, they must have done a lot of research as to who and how many people will actually stay there and use the facility. That part of the world is certainly up and coming when it comes to global economy, and I think building hotels like this is a clear sign that they'll play a major role in the years to come.
I know, right? Imagine having a fully booked hotel with 10,000 rooms. The Saudis are really in it when it comes to building structures such as this. Let's see how the opening goes come 2017. I could just picture many heads of states and powerful people all ready to try out the amenities of the largest hotel in the world. Another history in the making.
I just did a google search and they have several buildings that are marvels. They are doing something special there. It is a marvel to behold. I can only imagine what else they will build in the next ten years.
I have always been so amazed by the skills they have in the Saudis when it comes to creating out of this world structures. I wonder what's next on their list after introducing the world's largest hotel.
They also need to have the necessary infra-structures to support that, namely roads, parking and so on, it will be an amazing amount of people circulating, I can't even imagine such a big hotel.
And at the same time they are creating a wall to prevent people from Jordan and Iraq from entering easily. And really, nothing screams religious irony like capitalism. If only Vegas could invent a christian holiday and then force all Christians to attend the holiday in Vegas.... sorta reminds me of that city in PA where everyone goes to look at the groundhog.... 1 day a year, the hotels are sold out.
