If so, how can we make a profit? I know that it's unethical to try to find ways out of other's troubles, but that's how things are going in this world. If not us, someone else will figure out a way and do it anyway.

    So, any tips?

Well if the migrants destabilize the eurozone, we could see the markets take a dip.

Yes, it is really a mess over there. I don't know how this will all play out. I guess the Syrian refugees will end up spreading out all over Europe. I remember when there were refugees from Kosovo that were in a similar situation. Somehow they ended up being assimilated into other countries. I hate to say this but at least they aren't swarming over here. We have enough issues of our own. Profiting?? Not sure.. Greece certainly can't handle them...they have serious economic issues of their own.

Europe had to deal with Greece first, and now that the crisis isn't even over, they have a new crisis. The market will be affected and the people will suffer but I'm not really sure if we can profit from it. This is a problem that Europe has to fix by themselves and I'm not sure if the rest of the world can make a difference. I'm really hoping this all gets solved soon.

I don't know how to turn that migration issue in Europe into something beneficial. But maybe a housing program like cheap housing materials. When the province of Leyte was ravaged by a strong typhoon in 2009, some enterprising people started constructing budget homes, that 25 square meter house that is complete. And the material is mostly mud, yes, not really cement but mud so it is cheaper. That company had built hundreds of such houses there and they appear successful in their housing program that was funded by foreign sponsors.

I'm sure there are going to be ways to make money through the situation. I'm not sure whether I'm ready yet to do so. At the moment it doesn't feel right (for me). There will always be people willing and able to make money out of circumstances. And that's fine.

But as a principle I do think it's a dangerous general assumption to think that just because other people are doing so, we should also. In some situations you just have to let people make money out of situations and walk away. That was the narrative behind some of the looting of Jewish properties during WW2.

At the end of the day, if there's money to be made out if anything then people will, and in my opinion should do. You or me making a profit on the refugee crisis isn't going to affect the actual refugees or the countries they are going to so I don't see an issue.

On a side note, I'm from the UK, and while it's all very well for people to say, I'm glad it's happening over there and not here, sooner or later your government will get involved, so you'd better get used to it.

The migrant crisis will only negatively impact Europe's economy should the issue or how it's resolved anger member states. Earlier in the year the EU made it clear that they would accept migrants. That those migrants would be spread around EU member states. This is the contentious point which must be addressed. They are making progress it seems:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-34171161
Germany's coalition government has agreed to spend €6bn (£4.4bn) to support record numbers of migrants and other measures to deal with the influx . . . about 18,000 migrants arrived over the weekend after an agreement with Austria and Hungary to relax asylum rules . . . Germany expects to receive 800,000 refugees and migrants this year, and wants to see the rest of Europe do more to help.

I don't think the word profit should be used here. People are looking for better life conditions because their countries are at war, so they should be helped and not sent back to death and hunger.
