Two of my biggest concerns with TSLA at this time are that they currently only make high-end cars, and that they don't have dealerships. Most states have some sort of restrictions on cars being bought directly from manufacturers, and a few outlaw this totally. The dealership lobby is quite strong in America, and convenient servicing of a vehicle is a strong selling point for many buyers and most repeat buyers. If they do eventually start doing dealerships, that will cost money in the short term - although it will probably be worth it as long as they make a good product that people want and they can keep overhead under control.
