I recently bought a Forbes magazine that was listed as the best investment advice of all time, or something close to that. But, for me, a beginner, the magazine is a good start to learn. I have to wonder for experienced investors if magazines are still worth any time spent. Wouldn’t the lead time needed to put out a magazine be too late for how the market moves now? Is all of your reading strictly online or do the finance magazines still hold a valuable space?
Many magazines hold valuable investing information, but none of it will help you for right now, short-term buy and sell orders since you're right about the lead times. A magazine can give you solid general investing information along with some good long-term advice. Likewise, the Internet provides much of the same along with giving more short-sighted information that you could use perhaps the day you read it. I use a mix of everything. I like Forbes but more for some of the special pieces they have on specific people and whatnot.
Yeah, I figured that most people had moved exclusively to the Internet, but it is something to consider, continuing to use the magazines as foundational resource.
All my research is done all online, with the only cost being the monthly internet bill. There is a lot of great free information available online.
