Hi everyone, I've been hearing about phrases like Stock Market, Stock Exchange, Binary Options etc. My question is: How do all these relate? Again, how can I make money from these. I don't even understand them, so I don't know where to start. Please share your ideas. Thank you in advance for taking the time to help.
You're kidding, right? I don't think we can help you that much. You'll want to do some research on your own, and I recommend that you don't invest any money in stocks anytime soon or you're going to lose a lot of it. The stock market contains multiple stock exchanges. For instance, the U.S. Stock Market contains the Dow Jones Industrial Average, NASDAQ, and S&P500. Public companies offer stocks, and investors buy the stocks. You can make money when the stocks are doing well and occasionally when they're not doing so well. Go read up on it.
I'm afraid I have to agree with the other poster and say that there's probably not a way anyone can help if you don't know what the stock market is. If you have enough money to invest, you could make it grow, but this isn't a "get rich quick" endeavor. I do realize that you may be from a country where the subject and definition are not well-known, but in that case, I'm afraid there isn't money to be made. If you're still interested, you could always Google it.
If you don't understand the basic concepts behind a stock market, you are probably best served by consulting with a financial planner who is licensed in whatever country you live in. Buying stocks on your own would not be advisable at this point as there are many risks involved in such investments. A professional can at least help you understand those risks before making any investment decisions.
Good advice. And I'd also recommend reading the books we've talked about in these forums and reading the threads in these forums themselves to get a good basic understanding of what will be happening with any money you invest with a professional. You should build up a good basic knowledge base before even considering investing on your own.
I don't know how to phrase these terms with the right correct explanation, take time to research online, the library, you are bound to stumble upon the right explanation, but on binary options, similar to stock market yet made to sound simpler but much more riskier, tested and tried it, almost lost a lot of money...had to quit in the end, it needs a very shrewd investor, a tactic i lacked .
Hi troutski, thank you for taking out the time to respond. I really appreciate. I acknowledge the fact that some personal research will go a long way in getting me up-to-speed on the subject, but if you are anything like me who has a lot of activities lined-up for the day - Programming, writing, reading-up info on many subjects(almost at the same time) etc, you'll realize that sometimes it just makes a lot of sense to get some quick-start-guide/overview on a particular subject matter from an already knowledgeable person, instead of going to wade through a lot of information scattered across the internet. Anyways, once again: thank you very much for taking out the time to share. At least, you've been able to shed some light on the subject.
Hi, do you mean binary options trading is riskier than stock trading? Honestly I thought the opposite was true. Like you mentioned, I'd also read-up a few materials on binary options, and it was really made to appear simple to me - Simply decide whether to go for a high or low/call or put, and bingo! the money begins to roll in. Thank you very much for the advice dianethare; It's really an eye opener.
Basic questions require basic answers. You need some education that teaches you how to formulate questions. You can't jump overboard in the middle of the ocean without learning how to tread water. Aside from all the material on the web (start with Investopedia), the myriad of how-to books in B&N and other bookstores and libraries, take some finance and/or investing courses at your adult evening school or community (junior) college. Then ask more focused questions... and you will receive better answers. YMMV. HTH.
