What the hell is going on with Weight Watchers? This former darling of the stock market is now bouncing along the bottom. How did Oprah Winfrey leaving have such a profound effect on the company?

Might Oprah be tempted to come back in again? Or would this be akin to breathing life into a corpse and not do her reputation much good if it failed?

Did she really have much say/control when she was initially involved in the company?

There is no reason whatsoever to buy Weight Watchers shares at the moment. It does seem as though we are going through death by a 1000 cuts.

Every time you think that Weight Watchers has turned the corner the share price turns down again. There are far too many stale bulls in this one to see a recovery in the short to medium term.

Chart suggesting a potential break out but I have pretty much given up with this stock - too many stale bulls higher up.

Very interested to see some recent analyst upgrades and talk of increased subscriber numbers. The shares have reacted significantly on the upside - is this the turning point?

The problem with Weight Watchers is that the share price has been so weak for so long that many people are sceptical of a rally. This may lead to investors buying back in significantly higher than the price today, but is this a risk worth taking in case the share price heads downwards?
